Supermarket Debate

The Ledbury Food Group and Ledbury Transition are against a larger Tesco store because the effect on Ledbury high street shopping and the general lively atmosphere could be catastrophic.

Please join us by emailing Ledbury Food Group at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or contacting me on 01531 634788. We will send out further information as events evolve but if you care about the sustainable economy where roughly 80% of money from locally sourced goods goes back into the local economy and for National stores only 20% stays in the local economy and 80% goes out of the Ledbury area; please pass this on.

Go to the exhibition, twitter, email & talk to friends, speak to shopkeepers, producers, councillors and local businesses.  Tell us what you think and how you can help - we need your feedback – inaction is not an option if we want to retain Ledbury’s thriving local economy.

Correction: I must apologise for including the whole Ledbury Food Group in the statement in my last email about the proposed new, larger Tesco store when it was only some of the members conveying their concerns.

The newsletter was written in haste on return from my holiday and I should have allowed more time to confirm the facts.
