Following a ‘consultation’, Herefordshire Council has now decided which measures will be implemented in Ledbury. These are:
- An overall 20mph speed limit throughout the town;
- The south end (narrow bit) of Woodleigh Road will become one-way to motor traffic. This will give space for a contraflow route for cyclists and a footpath for pedestrians.
Work to implement these measures will commence on or after 20th July.

... though this diagram doesn’t show which direction the one-way will be! (But it will have to be towards New Street as previously stated - illogical otherwise.) The problem with ‘temporary’ measures is they often have the habit of becoming permanent....
A fair amount will happen in Hereford, so that’s where they’ll spend nearly all the money - which could arguably be better spent fixing potholes - of which Ledbury has more than its fair share....
Full details of measures throughout the county are listed here.
