Holy Day for Bankers and the Overpaid

While the shop workers, retailers, hoteliers, caterers and (most) workers in the travel industry carry on like it's just another day, the banks are shut and their workers putting their feet up, or going on holiday or going down the shops - it's a good job they're open!

Not only are the banks shut though - so too the library and the Council 'Info Shop' Office, which means the TIC is also shut. Let's hope then there's not too many tourists braving this foul weather looking for tourist information in ledbury - they won't get any.

I guess most of the Council are having a Holy Day - most likely heading for the nearest church to repent their sins. Congratulations though to the hard-working binmen (refuse collectors) who did their Good job today.

Is Herefordshire Council Chief Executive Chris Bull at work I wonder, fixing the county's problems. On his salary of £183,724 and 90 pence I would doubt so. Mr Bull earns £39,204 more than a parliamentary cabinet minister per annum - I wouldn't mind that much just to live on - then I might be able to afford a Holy Day too.
