"Democratically Done"

Protocol was broken last week at Ledbury Council's mayor-making, when the tradition of selecting the deputy mayor as the next mayor was broken and an open contest between two councilors ensued.

The Conservative plot to bring in Allen Conway was hatched and amid last minute open canvassing by Conway, the Deputy Mayor's fate was sealed.

The Deputy Mayor has been accused of not being proper mayor material because he is not a church goer. How American!

Politics of the Middle Ages or a Tory conspiracy? You decide!

Meanwhile, the Usurper Mayor wearing his bling of office is impressing few with his lack of knowledge about council procedure, rules and etiquette.

He is quoted in the Ledbury Distorter saying that the election was 'democratically done' - it would seem that the Deputy Mayor was well and truly 'democratically done'.

Only one councilor spotted in church (St Michael's) yesterday - Councilor Harvey. Where were all the others?

Surely not having a Sunday lie-in. Tut, tut.
