Super Rich Elite

This needs repeating like a mantra: This should be the drum beat that sparks mass action against the elite: This should be the alarm bell that awakens us from our sleepy carelessness:

“The richest 1,000 people in Britain have seen their wealth increase by £155bn since the crisis began – more than enough to pay off the whole government deficit of £119bn at a stroke”

[Guardian: Wednesday 31 October]

Add to that the UK ‘tax avoidance’ of multinational corporations: “Asda, Google, Apple, eBay, Ikea, Starbucks, Vodaphone… Amazon and Facebook.”

“The total tax gap between what’s owed and collected has been estimated… at £120bn”

[Guardian: Wednesday 31 October]

It has recently been revealed that Amazon contribute next to nothing in corporation tax in the UK.

At the same time, even by our Prime Minister’s acknowledgement, we are being fleeced left, right and centre by the cartel of energy companies.

And meanwhile, our political parties (without debate) want to replace Trident with a new nuclear arsenal at a cost of £83bn. That’s £83bn that will never be used, or if it is, will destroy a city of millions.

Who is the enemy?

Re: Super Rich Elite

In this week as the super rich elite get a lot richer, although a drop of 10% income tax probably hardly scratches the surface of their untaxed hidden millions in overseas bank accounts - what's a few hundred thousand pounds to a millionaire anyway? - and the rest of us get poorer, taxed and generally shafted as we are by the political elite, I asked the man who does not represent me in Parliament - farmer Bill Wiggin - about how many (spare) bedrooms his second house in London has.

I thought there was parallel between the public paying for an MP's second home and the public paying housing benefit - a bit like how we also all pay for Buckingham Palace and those German/Greek squatters.

However, to my astonishment the farmer who does not represent me disagrees saying: "The parallels you were seeking do not exist. The IPSA website explains the rules now. The second home allowance was abolished when IPSA was created."

I contacted IPSA and was informed that MP's second homes are still funded by the taxpayer.

Neither Bill nor IPSA seemed to know how spare bedrooms the second London house had - or if they did know, they didn't want to tell me.

Re: Super Rich Elite

88 UK billionaires and the Government abolishes the £320 million Independent Living Fund for the 20,000 people with severe disabilities. This is pocket money to one billionaire.

Cameron is a liar when he says we are in this together. It's exactly the opposite. The super rich elite are getting richer and richer and richer... They are literally feeding off us.

How much can one billionaire consume? How many shoes does she wear? How many breakfasts does he break? How many bedrooms in how many mansions can they sleep in tonight?
