Local man and ex-journalist Leslie Heywood has just published his 2005 short story Boys Don't Cry on www.lulu.com , a website specialising in online publishing and literature sales.

The story was written for Jill Phipps , the Animal Rights protester who was crushed and killed by a lorry carrying live veal calves to Coventry Airport in 1995.

Leslie Heywood will soon be publishing his next book Blood of the Magpie, which he describes as an Arabic equivalent to Orwell's Animal Farm, but has been read by some as analogy to the Iraq war and continuing conflict.
