It has been described as the wettest day ever recorded in this area. The Three Counties along with Warwickshire were the worst hit in the country. Rescue teams have worked long and hard through the night in what has been described as the largest ever peace-time rescue. Fire services called in the RAF to pluck motorists from their cars. The M5 has become a car park as motorists abandoned their vehicles. Tens of thousands of people have been stranded.

More locally properties have been damaged yet again by the rains. Post your stories, news and photographs here on the Ledbury Portal.
