Mystery surrounds the overnight painting of Ledbury's historic public house the Prince of Wales in Church Lane. Bemused landlord Les Smith said he had no idea as to the motive of the pink redecoration.
Apparently person/s unknown painted the Prince bright pink at about 6:30 this morning. Although nobody caught them in the act they were most likely observed by CCTV cameras operating in Church Lane. The painter/s appeared to take great care with their work as only the brick work was painted, leaving signs, window frames and black timbers untouched. It wasn't just the front that was given the pink treatment, but the uninvited decorator/s also painted the back of the Prince pink in Church Street. Landlord Les believes the perpetrator/s used rollers to reach reach right up to the roof level. At the end of the 'job' an invoice was left under the door of the pub stating 'Paid in Full'.
