As i was driving out of Ledbury towards Hereford yesterday afternoon i spotted something in the sky that i could only describe as a partial rainbow.

This spectral scab hung in the sunbleached sky for a good half hour before fading back into the blue.I have never seen such a sight before but it was suggested to me that one possible reason for this could be a lack of funds.

If Council and education are experiencing financial difficulties then it may be so with the Met Office too. Are we soon going to experience stuff like half sunshine or rain that dries before it hits the ground or even thunderstorms using lower voltage electricity. Maybe one good thing to come out of all this is that damn snow machine may be switched off for a while.

It's a Sun Dog - well done Drew! I reported one back in July 2007. You can view the article if you enter Sun Dog in the Portal search box (top, right).
