The cause of the polluting of the River Leadon last month which killed thousands of fish has still not been explained.

A five mile stretch of the river downstream from Ledbury was polluted.

Environment Agency officer, Ian Skuse, told the Ledbury Portal that it is being investigated and that he is waiting to interview various people about this. Once the case has been fully investigated it will then be decided whether prosecution or enforcement is necessary.

However, the Ledbury Portal has been informed that the river is now safe to use. The river will not be restocked with fish as it is expected that fish from both upstream and downstream will naturally repopulate this stretch of river over time.
