Spoof Article

Old Spot on Ledbury PortalA Gloucestershire pig, Old Spot, representing Leominster council has been informed by the Communist Council of Herefordshire that it is to be investigated by the standards committee after allegations that it failed to comply with the council's code of conduct.

Old Spot hasn't been informed of what the allegations are or who has made them. In a private and confidential communication the Communist Council wrote to the pig informing it:

"The assessment sub-committee of the standards committee will meet to consider the allegation. The assessment sub-committee will not meet in public and only committee members and officers advising them will be present."

Old Spot [named here for illegal reasons] will not be invited to attend the secret meeting and will not be allowed to give evidence or defend itself.

The Communist Council of Herefordshire continued:

"You are advised not to contact anyone who might be involved in this complaint as this could compromise you, or the fairness of the process. However, you may wish to seek independent advice about this."
