Last Sunday, Les Wilson, Mick Barker and Chris Lomas (The Mighty Houserockers) rocked a packed house with their rock/blues/slide-boogie set.

Logic says it shouldn't work, yet no visiting band has ever found the accommodation lacking at The Prince of Wales*. No matter how packed the place becomes (and it is popular), it seems there's always a place to sit or stand and see what's going on, and the acoustics are comfortable throughout. Those old Tudor fellers certainly knew how to design rock/blues venues. Oh, and did I mention the jawdropping selection of beers and ales, always available?

(*Except for one, ironically a one-man-band, who had the daft idea of screwing ALL of his kit to a large sheet of plywood. Couldn't get it through the door. Scratching his head, he said "This isn't the first time I've had this problem". DUH!!!)

As I always say, remember there are people living near you who want to stop this kind of thing. Fight them back by supporting live music, wherever and however you can. Leave your iThing at home and encourage your bottom to a live gig.
