The fair has arrived Ledbury's historic October Fair has arrived for two days of hyperstimulation for children and the young at heart alike. Starting Monday evening and climaxing on Tuesday night it will be fingers crossed for dry weather for both organisers and punters.

The fair started arriving Saturday night with the authorities demanding vehicles be removed from the lower part of The Homend, High Street and Bye Street and its car park to make way for the fair's vehicles and rides. In the Bye Street car park fair workers and local lads giving a hand finished work for the night at about 10 o'clock. Work resumed early on Sunday morning and will continue through most of the day to get things ready and safe for the next two evenings of diesel fueled repetitive beats, flashing lights, candy floss and spinning rides, accompanied by the wails, screams and cries of excited and hyperstimulated boys and girls.

Feel free to register with the Portal to post your stories and photos of October Fairs past and present.
