White Leaved Oak walk on Ledbury Portal

Drive to the other side of Hollybush and find a parking place.  There are two close by.

Walk down the right hand lane at the cross roads, heading south.

At the thatched gatehouse, pass through the gate and cross the field; keeping to the pathway.

At the next gate, continue on the track (keeping a look-out for violets, primroses and later daffodils and bluebells) until you reach the bridge over the lane to 'White Leaved Oak'.

Walk on for approximately three quarters of a mile, and find a pathway up the hillside to your right.  This is Chase End hill.

On reaching the top of the path, look for the gate allowing access to the bottom of the hill (you have now come out of the trees).

Cut straight across the bottom of the hill and find the pathway leading down to the lane below.  On reaching the lane, turn right and continue, until you reach the hamlet called White Leaved Oak.

Please read the notice board, as Steve( the local scribe) has usually written something amusing!!

You may want to visit the White Leaved Oak and note why it has been such a famous place for people to visit.

Continue through the pretty hamlet until you reach the last cottage on your left hand side.  Here, you must follow the path which leads up the bank behind the cottage.

Some care will be needed as you will pass through a broken wall to your left and then go down to the track you left earlier...  Turn left and head back the way you came.
