Celebrate ten years research on the wild daffodil habitats of NW Gloucestershire and the Forest of Dean by downloading the definitive online publication: The Social and Natural History of the Golden Triangle.

This new archive tour on the heritage website includes many scientific, local history and press articles together with radio interviews, photographs and film footage. It includes film of the last train on the GWR Daffodil Line, and the socio-economic impact of its closure in 1960.

Arranged in 18 chapters from geology, botany, transport and access, to the cut flower trade, tourism and conservation efforts right through to the  2010-2012 threat of Public Forest Estate sell-off at Westminster. The editorial summary running through the History discusses the impacts of the last 100 years of countryside 'development' on the biodiversity and landscape of this unique area of truly English rural villages.

Please support the work on the social heritage of the Golden Triangle by registering on the website to receive regular updates, make comments or to provide additional information and links.
