Old Apple Tree we Wassail thee, and hope that thou will bear Hats full, Caps full, 3 Bushel Bags full - and a Little Heap under the Stairs.

After an absence last year due to Covid, Silurian Border Morrismen will be back with their popular Wassail in Much Marcle on Saturday 8th January 2022, starting from the car park of Westons Cider Visitor Centre (HR8 2NQ).  Dancing will be at 7pm followed by an atmospheric torchlight procession into ancient cider orchards.

The 'donations only' event raises funds for St. Michael's Hospice at Bartestree.  The wassail bucket takings are matched pound for pound by Westons.

Westons apple crop relies on Silurian Wassail every January. Without it the world would be a drier, duller place...  And St. Michael's relies on local support too!  We need people there on the 8th to share in a ceremony bursting with fire, poetry, weird gifts, ancient songs and lots of laughs.  Add in a bit of Silurian's vigorous Border dancing and you've got a great night out for the whole family.

Silurian would like to remind all participants that REAL fire is involved - come prepared!
