Counting is now complete for 52 out of 53 county council wards.

The Tories have had a trouncing, having won only 13 seats (they held 29 in 2015) and thus have resoundingly lost control of the council.  They fielded a candidate in every ward.  Other candidates fared as follows:

It's Our County: 8 (11 candidates standing)

The 53rd seat, Ross North, has a sad recent history.  Councillor Jenny Hyde (Con) lost her battle against cancer in February, and the UKIP candidate for this election died since nominations closed on 4th April.  The seat will now be contested on 6th June.

There was no election for Ledbury Town Council in any of the town's 3 wards (18 seats in all) since an insufficient number of candidates were nominated.  The ten who did stand are duly elected unopposed:

North John Bannister
Liz Harvey
Dee Knight
Daniel Vesma
South Matthew Eakin
Nicholas Morris
Timothy Rae-Clarke
West Phillip Howells
Andrew Manns
Dean Whattler

The council has powers of co-option to fill the remaining 8 seats if it so wishes.
