Our MP has announced that he will be hosting a public meeting in Ledbury Community Centre on Friday 10th June at 7pm. This will be one of 4 to be held that day: others will be in Lyonshall Village Hall (2pm), The Old Police Station Kington (3:30pm) and The Falcon Hotel Bromyard (5:30pm). If travelling times are included, he doesn't seem to anticipate much public debate at these other places.

In his emailed announcement, he states:

"I imagine that most of you, like me, have the forthcoming EU Referendum on your mind, and how you should vote.

Many of my constituents have shared with me their concerns that there is little information available about this, which hinders their ability to make an informed choice on this once-in-a-generation vote.

This Referendum, whatever the result, will affect the future of the UK in a dramatic fashion. I therefore think that it is vital that everyone is as informed as possible on the issue of the EU when approaching the Ballot Box on 23 June.

As your MP, I want to help and support my constituents as they decide on their vote on the UK's membership of the EU.

In order to do this, I will be holding a series of public meetings. You are all very welcome to come and speak to me about your concerns and raise questions and I will do my utmost to help you make an informed choice.

I hope you will come along to one of these meetings and I will be glad to discuss the EU and future of the UK with you, in order that you are as informed as possible before 23 June.

Please share this information with anyone who you think will be interested in attending.

The meeting is open to everyone. I welcome all my constituents, regardless of their political views, which will allow for a more interesting discussion!

I encourage everyone who can vote in this Referendum to do so to ensure you have your say in your country's future. If you are concerned that you may be away or unable to vote on 23 June, do ensure that you register for a postal vote. The deadline for this is 5pm on 8 June 2016."

The Portal has noted Mr. Wiggin appears to be one of 115 back-benchers who have decided to vote to leave, according to this article in The Spectator. The Hereford Times reports that he will be joining co-founders of Grassroots Out - Peter Bone MP and Tom Pursglove MP, for a Brexit rally in the Lion Ballroom, Leominster this Saturday, 28th May.

EU secret payments

I hope somebody asks Bill Wiggin why the amount of the payment he receives as a farm subsidy from the EU is a secret.

If he answers the EU shouldn't be secretive about how tax payers money is spent, then he should be asked to reveal how much he is receiving and how much down the years he has received.
